Job Title: AU Tax Accountant

Job Type: Remote

Schedule: Monday to Friday | 7AM to 4PM

Job Description: The AU Tax Accountant will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with Australian tax regulations, and providing high-quality accounting and tax services. This role requires a strong understanding of Australian tax laws, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) for clients.
  • Ensure timely and accurate lodgment of all tax returns and other compliance documents with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
  • Conduct thorough reviews of financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with Australian tax regulations.
  • Provide tax planning and advisory services to clients, helping them understand their tax obligations and optimize their tax position.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Liaise with the ATO and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients, managing correspondence and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in Australian tax legislation and ensure clients are informed of relevant updates.
  • Collaborate with other team members to support client needs and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Provide training and support to junior accountants as needed.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or CA qualification (or working towards it) is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on Australian tax compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws and regulations, including BAS, IAS, and ATO lodgments.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
